ABOUT ARLENE FLATFOOT, GRADE 2 TEACHER
Aaniin! Tansi!
Wapishki Pineshi Ikwe niin-dishh-nee-kas! Ka-Ka-kwe-kwe-gii-ung do-gee!
Hello! My traditional name is White Thunderbird Woman and I am originally from the Ebb and Flow Ojibway Nation, from the Treaty 2 Territory.
I was in Norway House with my family 18 years ago. My children have grown up and now have their own families. One of my sons, Gator, married into the community of Norway House and they have three beauitful children. My sons have so many fond memories of this very beautiful place. Norway House has a special place in my heart which is why I chose to come back.
During the time I was away, I got to work with such a wonderful organization of the Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre (MFNERC) in Winnipeg. I got to work with such amazing educators in many First Nations Communities in Manitoba and I am proud to say that I have made many life long friends along the way.
I am excited to be back in Norway House and I am eager to work with students and their families including all the many talented educators. I am eager to learn and I am willing to try many different approaches to learning. I am approachable and please feel free to say Tansi! Aaniin! when I see you around the community! I look forward to working with you and your families!

For the students in my classroom!
I have set up all my students to use Kids A-Z which is an award-winning digital resource through Kids A-Z, Learning A-Z's website created for students. Raz-Kids provides students with instant access to a library of developmentally appropriate texts designed to strengthen their reading and comprehension skills. Every eBook is leveled using Learning A-Z's proprietary algorithm that ensures the text provides an appropriately difficult and engaging reading experience. I will be contacting all parents so that they can log onto the site. After your child logs in, your child can work on assignments or select other resources for reading and writing practice. Please feel free to contact me at the Frontier School Division email at Arlene.Flatfoot@fsdnet.ca or you can contact me at the school at 204-359-4100. Miigwetch! Ekosi! Arlene |
