Health Week - Guest Dancer - Shauna Jueczak
Shauna started ballet at age 10 as part of her artistic gymnastics training. After many successful years of national and international gymnastic competition, Shauna turned to dance, studying as many forms of dance as she could.
Her performance background includes countless performances with the CFL Blue Bombers Blue Lightning Dance Team, as well as exciting live performances at multiple NBA 3 on 3 events, and alongside artists like Nelly Furtado, the Black Eyed Peas, and Mobile.
Shauna has over 17 years of teaching experience in gymnastics and dance. During her time dancing in the CFL, she was a co-captain and choreographer for the Blue Lightning Dance Team (now known as the Blue Bomber Cheer Team), and she also coached and choreographed for the University of Winnipeg Dance Team and the Red River College Dance Team. Her love for dance and gymnastics are equal, and she continues to work in the gymnastics community, where she teaches ballet to elite gymnasts at Panthers Gymnastics in Winnipeg, and is also an artistic gymnastics judge.
After years working in marketing and events for companies like Sport Manitoba, The University of Winnipeg, The MS Society, and The Manitoba Lung Association, as well as a columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press, Shauna chose to leave the world of a regular day-job to devote herself full-time to Maples Academy of Dance. Along with her work at Maples Academy of Dance, Shauna does freelance work on the side in marketing, does educational, motivational, and corporate event presentations, and is a business mentor for local young entrepreneurs in the Futurpreneur program.
Shauna has a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Winnipeg and is also a graduate of Red River College's Creative Communications program.
