Principal’s Message
Welcome to Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre. The 2015-2016 school year promises to be exciting, challenging and rewarding! You have the privilege of being a member of an excellent staff, who work hard to meet the needs of our children and community. The information in this handbook has been prepared to present a brief overview of the practices and policies that we follow in our school. Specific details of Division policies are not included; however, the comprehensive Frontier School Division policy manual can be accessed at www.frontiersd.mb.ca by selecting Governance & Leadership - Policy.
Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre is Frontier’s largest school and one of the most technologically advanced schools in the Province. We offer a wide range of courses and activities to meet the needs and interests of all students from grades N-12. This year we have several opportunities to showcase our school and community. In May we will host the Division’s Music Jamboree and throughout the year we will host a wide variety of sporting events for various age groups. Any school, however, is only as successful as the students and staff members make it. Successful schools are built on positive relationships with students and professional relationships among colleagues. To make the most of your experience at HBOIERC I encourage you to get involved in the school community by contributing to co-curricular activities. This will provide you with an opportunity to get to know the students personally outside of the academic day and lead to increased student engagement.
I also encourage you to take advantage of the range of supports available to you within the school, the area, and the Division. Remember to reserve adequate time for yourself and your family, get plenty of rest, eat healthy, and build regular exercise into your day.
Good luck and have a great year at HBOIERC!
