Stop Motion Animation
The grade 3 students of HBOIERC had the opportunity to work with an artist from Winnipeg to create stop motion animation videos in January. The artist was in our school for a week and he worked with several groups. The students learned how to make stop motion videos by creating characters using modelling clay. The characters were photographed in front of student created backgrounds and scenes. Small movements were added to the characters and a numbers of still photographs captured each movement. At the end, the pictures were imported into a video program and voiceovers were added. The end result was a number of 20-30 second videos that showcased the imagination of our students at its best.
